Adventures in San Francisco-land...(pt.2)

The rollercoaster that has been our first week of SF has been pretty intense. Some serious highs and lows, indeed. The first night here we were COMPLETELY tired from a severe lack of sleep amd we failed to empty our car before hitting the hay. Well. Someone emptied it for us! I'm capable of laughing about our sheer and utter ignorance for leaving our car full of valuables, but it's still the biggest pain in the ass! They took everything! Video iPod, video camera, digital camera, ALL my jewelry, shoes, purses, etc. etc. We're in the process of filing the claim with the insurance company. Not fun.

Good things have been happening too! The city is beautiful, weather is perfect, which keeps us smiling. I got a job teaching high school biology in South San Francisco. That will be a new experience! It's been a while since I was in the science environment. Hmmm...Having a job has made me 100% less anxious and worried about the whole move. I got a call today from a woman who worked with me in Battle Creek and is now an assistant principal in Kalamazoo. She offered me a job teaching English at Loy Norrix where I did my internship. Funny how things like that happen. When we were in Michigan that's the job I so desperately wanted. Now I am hundreds of miles away and the job was offered to me. Oh well.

We're still on the hunt for an apartment. We've got on our eye on one, we'll see how that goes!

Off to eat some delicious SF food!

It is nice to be able to read about what you've been up to, Em! Sorry about the mishaps! AH! But I know you guys will rock SF! I highly recommend Mekong! It is the most amazing Thai restaurant! Everything can secretly be made vegetarian with fake meats!! I would love to have your address when you get one! <3 <3 <3 MJP
